Dennis Padilla: ‘Bibitbitin ko ‘to hanggang mamatay ako’

ACTOR-COMEDIAN Dennis Padilla has decided to cut emotional ties with his children with former partner Marjorie Barretto, saying he is “done trying” after feeling deeply hurt and excluded during the recent wedding of daughter Claudia.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Dennis shared that he no longer sees a path toward reconciliation with his children. “Ayoko na, surrender na. Finished. Tatay na lang nila ako pero bringing back the relationship, wala na siguro,” he said.

The breaking point, he said, came during Claudia’s wedding on April 8, where he was invited but not included in the official entourage nor in the ceremony’s main program. He recalled turning away from the altar to hide his tears from his mother.

“Tinalikuran ko na lang kasi ayokong makita ng nanay ko na umiiyak ako,” he said.

Dennis shared that he was confused and hurt when told to simply “follow the program” after asking why he wasn’t given a more significant role in his daughter’s big day.

“Sabi ko lang sa kanila, ‘Ano ho ba ang nangyari, di ba ako po ‘yung father of the bride?’ Sabi po sa akin, ‘Just follow the program that I gave you.’ So, wala po kaming magawa.”

He also revealed that days before the wedding, Claudia had messaged him claiming the ceremony would no longer push through. “Pakiramdam ko lang kaya sinabi niya na hindi tuloy ang kasal kasi ayaw na niya akong papuntahin,” he said. “Wala siyang magawa.

Now, the veteran comedian says he will focus his energy on his other children and accept that some ties can no longer be repaired. “Kung hindi na nila ako matatanggap, e di hindi ko na rin matatanggap ang treatment na nangyari sa akin.”

Dennis also lamented never being acknowledged publicly by his children, noting that he’s never been featured or even mentioned in their social media posts—not even his parents. “Ngayon ko lang na-realize na not one of my children even posted my picture in their Instagram. As in zero.”

“Parang hindi na lalambot ang puso ko sa mga anak ko,” he said. “I think I will carry it to my funeral. Bibitbitin ko na lang ‘to hanggang mamatay ako. Ayoko na, napagod na ako.”
