ACTRESS Claudine Barretto slammed the renewed circulation of the so-called “RCBC Elevator Scandal” involving her sister Gretchen Barretto, calling it “fake news” that had long been debunked.
“Sisiraan n’yo Ate ko. Ngayon alam n’yo na — fake news! Tagal na na-clear ni Madam ‘yan! nakinig ba kayo?!” Claudine wrote.
“Ang inggit nakakamatay. Mapatawad sana kayong lahat na nagkalat niyan. At sa mga nagtanggol sa Ate ko mula noon hanggang ngayon, may God bless each and everyone of you,” she added.
Her post came after Philippine Stock Exchange director and First Resources Management and Securities chair Vivian Yuchengco publicly dismissed the decades-old rumor, which alleged that Gretchen was barred from RCBC Tower after a supposed confrontation in an elevator.
“The urban legend with Gretchen is fake news! And to the person who wrote it and used my face on it more than 20 years ago, I am not an old lady!!!” Yuchengco was quoted as saying.
