Chito Miranda doesn’t spank his children

PAROKYA ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda said he does not resort to spanking when disciplining his children with wife Neri Miranda.

In a recent social media post, Chito shared a photo of his sons Miggy and Cash and opened up about how he handles parenting and discipline at home.

“My boys,” he began in the caption. “Sobrang patient ni Kuya Miggy kay Cash.”

Miranda said that while his sons sometimes argue or tease each other, his eldest, Miggy, never resorts to hurting his younger brother.

“Minsan, syempre nagkakapikunan din sila… pero never, never, NEVER sinasaktan ni Miggy si Cash. Minsan nga, iiyak na lang si Migs kasi ‘di siya makaganti… pero they always find a way to patch things up, fairly,” he wrote.

He added that his children do receive punishment when they knowingly do something wrong, but not through physical means.

“And yes, they do get punished if they do something na alam nilang mali… after explaining what they are being punished for,” he said. He included a photo of his younger son, Cash, sitting and facing the wall as a form of time-out.

When asked about spanking, Miranda said: “Do I spank them? Nope… kasi mas gets nila when I talk to them calmly (but firmly) whenever they do something wrong.”

Miranda clarified that he was not promoting a specific parenting method, but was simply sharing his experience as a father.

“Disclaimer: ‘Di ko sinasabi na our way is the best. I’m just sharing how I am with my kids… masaya lang ako na nagmamahalan sila,” he said.
