Carlos Agassi opens up about being ignored by ‘The Hunks’ members

RAPPER-actor Carlos Agassi opened up about his current relationship with his former group, The Hunks, which included Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, and Bernard Palanca.

In a TikTok video, Carlos responded to netizens’ questions about whether he still keeps in touch with his former bandmates.

Without naming names, he explained why the group disbanded: “Kasi gusto ng kanya-kanyang career ‘yung iba. Kasi ‘pag group, pantay-pantay kami sa lahat e—sa exposure, sa TF (talent fee), sa career. So para makaangat ‘yung iba, nabuwag.”

He also recalled how he received no support from his former colleagues after undergoing knee surgery in 2022 following a basketball injury.

“Wala, wala na talaga. Kahit nga napilayan ako, walang nag-check sa akin. Pero hindi masama ‘yun. Okay lang, ganoon talaga ang buhay,” he said.

Carlos further shared that while in the US, he was invited to guest at a former The Hunks member’s concert—an appearance he willingly did for free.

“Naku hindi, brother kita, kuya ko kayong lahat, ako ang pinakabata e. Tara walang bayad, I’ll do it for you, my bro,” he recounted.

However, when the tables were turned and he asked for a favor in return, his messages were ignored.

“Tapos ito na, gumawa ako ng ‘Milk Tea,’ marami akong minessage para lumabas sa music video—seen!” he revealed.

He also recounted a time when they ran into each other during the birthday celebration of veteran talent manager Johnny Manahan, also known as Mr. M.

“Siyempre showbiz, binati pa nila akong lahat, sila ang unang bumati,” he said.

Admitting that the industry operates differently from real life, he added: “Ibang-iba talaga sa showbiz at tsaka sa real life…Pero hindi masama ‘yun, ganun talaga ang buhay eh, that’s life.”

“Hindi ba kumbaga magkakumpetensya rin kami, ayaw nilang makabalik ako. So tama kayo, mali ako. Walang hatred, that’s love,” Carlos said.
