KAPUSO actress Carla Abellana chose not to address recent statements made by her former husband Tom Rodriguez about her new relationship.
In an interview, Carla was asked for her reaction to Tom’s comments. She immediately declined.
“Ayoko ’yan, oo. Five years ago na ’yan, e. Ang luma naman ’yan,” she said.
Tom, in an interview, said he is happy for Abellana after learning she is engaged.
“I wish her well. Everyone deserves happiness and we all deserve to move on kaya I’m glad… Ako, nakatutok na ako sa sarili kong married life lang,” he said.
He added that he prefers to focus on his current life.
“For me, I like what I have now and I like to keep it that way. ’Yun lang. Gusto ko ’yung peace na meron ako ngayon. Mas doon na lang ako magfo-focus. So ’yung past, I don’t want to open it.”
Tom said he only recently learned about Carla’s engagement.
“I wish them well and ’yun nga, I’m glad to know that she’s moving on. We all deserve it,” he said.
When asked if he would be open to working with Carla again, he replied: “For me, I’m okay with what I have. I’d rather not. I like what I have. I don’t need to revisit there.”
Carla and Tom married in 2021 but separated after a few months. Their divorce was finalized in 2022.
