Anne Curtis urges stricter transport regulations after fatal accidents

ACTRESS and television host Anne Curtis has called on transportation authorities to enforce stricter safety and licensing standards following a series of fatal road accidents in recent days.

In a Facebook post, Curtis expressed condolences to the victims and their families, citing the recent vehicular crash along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) on May 1, which killed 10 people and injured several others.

She also referred to the incident at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, where an SUV crashed into the departure area, resulting in the deaths of a five-year-old girl and one man.

“I truly pray and hope this is a wake-up call for those in the DOT and LTO to find ways to ensure that drivers and vehicles on the roads meet the highest safety and licensing standards,” Curtis said, referring to the Department of Transportation and the Land Transportation Office.

“Seeing so many vehicle accidents on the news with lives tragically taken — so many young lives being taken away so soon,” she added.

“My heart goes out to all those left to grieve for their parents, significant other, family member and their children.”
