ACTOR Andre Paras came to the defense of his younger brother, basketball player Kobe Paras, after the latter became the subject of online gossip over a viral video showing him partying with girls at a club.
In a lengthy message posted on social media, Andre called out the content creator who uploaded and commented on the video, accusing them of spreading fake news and trying to damage Kobe’s reputation –especially amid breakup rumors with his girlfriend, actress Kyline Alcantara.
“Kobe is with his friends and he’s having fun. They’re in a club—at the right place and time. It’s legal to have fun and make noise there, right?” Andre said.
He added that people should be more concerned if someone went to a club only to read a book or take a nap. “Magtaka po kayo kapag nag-club ang isang tao tapos nagbabasa lang ng libro o natutulog. That would be weird.”
Andre pointed out that if the creator truly cared about Kobe, they would not be putting him on blast.
“I know what you’re trying to do—you’re trying to make my brother look like a bad person,” he said. “Since magaling kayo mag-stalk, then you should know that the women in that video are the girlfriends of Kobe’s friends. But of course, you won’t tell your followers that, because you want to create drama.”
Andre also questioned the motives behind the video, suggesting that the poster was chasing views and engagement for monetary gain.
“Views = money, I get it,” he said. “But doing it this way? Using someone else’s name and private life just for clicks? That says a lot about your intentions.”
He warned the content creator not to delete their posts or block him, saying that doing so might be seen as tampering with evidence.
“As his kuya, I have every right to stand up for my brother—especially against people who only care about making him look bad,” Andre said.
