ACTRESS Alma Concepcion revealed that her pet dog, Sniper, bit her in the face while she was cuddling him but assured fans that she is okay after receiving the necessary shots.
“Yesterday morning, I was cuddling my dog, and then he bit me. It was my first time to be bitten,” Alma shared on Instagram.
She added that Sniper had previously bitten her son Cobie when he accidentally leaned on him. “I was just hugging him and resting my head on his shoulder when this happened,” she said.
Alma said that Sniper has been with her since he was four months old and is now four years old.
Moving forward, she said her family has learned to adjust their interactions with him.
“Lesson for us here in the house: we won’t cuddle him anymore. Probably we can just pet him and give him some caressing, but definitely no more hugging from now on,” she explained.
She also noted a change in Sniper’s behavior after the incident. “He’s potty trained, and with the looks of it, he is very sorry. He doesn’t jump on my bed anymore. He used to sleep with me, but I think I have to stop that, too, since this might happen again if my legs accidentally move while I’m asleep.”
The actress took the opportunity to educate her followers about rabies vaccinations, sharing what she learned from medical professionals.
“Getting a vaccination after a bite is NOT an emergency thing. As long as you get your shots as soon as you can, even the next day or two, it’s fine—as long as it’s before the 10th day,” she said.
She also encouraged pet owners to check for free government-provided vaccinations in their districts, noting that she and her son received their shots for free in Quezon City.
