PAIIMBESTIGAHAN na ni Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos ang mga local government officials sa Bohol kaugnay sa kontrobersyal na pagtatayo ng resort sa bisinidad ng Chocolate Hills sa Bohol.
Nagbabala si Abalos na pananagutin ang mga opisyal na responsable sa nasabing ilegal na pagpapatayo ng Captain Peak’s Resort na naging viral topic ngayon sa social media.
“Under our Local Government Code, they have the mandate to enhance the right of the people to a balanced ecology. If illegal construction was allowed within a protected area, this would fall gravely short of this responsibility. We commit to working with the DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) toward any resolution they deem just on this matter,” pahayag ni Abalos.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado na inaayos na ng pamahalang panlalawigan ng Bohol ang isyu.
Samantala, motu propio invesitgation naman ang ikakasa sa Kamara hinggil sa nasabing isyu, ayon kay ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo.
Sa gagawing imbestigasyon, tutukuyin kung sino ang pumayag na opisyal para makapagpatayo ng resort sa gitna ng mga burol.
