CATHOLIC devotees were left in awe after what appeared to be a cloud formation resembling Jesus Christ emerged in the sky following a mass near the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Peñafrancia.
The gathering was part of the National Youth Day celebration attended by over 8,000 participants.
In a video shared by attendee Aya Miranda, the figure appeared to take on the familiar Christian image of Jesus with outstretched arms and flowing hair.
The clip, allegedly recorded on an iPhone with geo-tag and metadata verifying the time and location, quickly went viral on social media.
“The skies were dark earlier, but as the mass progressed, the weather cleared—and then came a powerful moment,” Miranda said.
Event organizers said the mass and vigil drew young devotees from across the region. While some believe the apparition was a sign from above, others saw it as a moment of spiritual unity.
“Many of us couldn’t help but feel it was more than a coincidence,” Miranda added.
