ISANG ganap na lungsod na ngayon ang Calaca sa Batangas matapos manalo ang “yes” sa isinagawang plebesito noong Sabado, ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Sinabi ni Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco, nakakuha ang ‘yes’ ng 29,424 boto kumpara sa ‘no’ votes na 3,781.
Idinagdag ni Laudiangco na niratipikahan ng mga residente ang pagiging lungsod ng Calaca sa ilalim ng Republic Act 11544.
“With a very high plebiscite turnout of 56.39 percent, pr 33.205 out of the total 58,881 total registered voters participating in this Saturday’s electoral exercise, Calaquenos drom 40 barangays trooped to their 123 clustered precints in 37 voting centers despite the stormy weather brought by super typhoon Henry,” dagdag ni Ludiangco.
