Students hospitalized after inhaling smoke from cheer dance props

SEVERAL students from a college in Batangas City were rushed to the hospital after having difficulty breathing due to smoke from a color smoke grenade used as a prop during a cheer dance competition on Thursday, Nov. 27.

According to the Batangas City Police Station, the incident happened inside the gymnasium when one of the competing groups set off a creative color smoke grenade as part of its performance.

Thick smoke quickly filled the area, causing some students to inhale it and experience sudden breathing problems.

The affected students were immediately brought to nearby hospitals for medical attention and possible confinement.

Authorities and school officials are investigating the incident to determine whether safety protocols were violated.
