SK chairman dies while replacing light bulb

A 24-year-old Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman from a barangay in Jomalig, Quezon, died after being electrocuted while replacing a light bulb at their covered court on Sunday morning.

Police said the victim was rushed to Claro M. Recto Memorial Hospital in Infanta, Quezon, but was declared dead on arrival.

Initial investigation showed that around 8:30 a.m., the victim was standing on a platform to replace one of the court’s lights when he accidentally came in contact with a live wire.

He fell to the ground and sustained serious injuries.

Rescuers first brought him to a local health facility on the island, but due to his critical condition, he was transferred to a hospital in Infanta. He, however, died while being transported by boat.
