NETIZENS are asking for the identity of a popular social media influencer whose online post led authorities to seize an estimated P600,000 worth of vape products in Baguio City on June 5.
The influencer, who has millions of followers on Facebook and TikTok, had posted a call for vape resellers in Baguio, Benguet, and La Union, along with a contact number.
The post prompted a tip-off to authorities and was found to have violated Section 12 of Republic Act 11900 and the Smoke-Free Baguio Ordinance.
Using the contact information, agents from the Smoke-Free Task Force, Baguio City Police Intelligence Unit, and Health Services Office arranged a meet-up.
During the operation, all vape products were confiscated and citation tickets were issued. The influencer was also instructed to settle the corresponding fines under the law.
City officials reminded the public that Baguio has no registered vape shops or authorized sellers. Residents are urged to report illegal vape sales to authorities.
