A MOTHER from Dagupan City is appealing for help after losing everything she owned in a fire that gutted her home while she was away tending to her sick child.
“Wala na kaming natira. Kahit kutsara, wala,” said Juvy, a resident of Brgy. Pantal.
Only one thing escaped the blaze: a lone chicken that flew to safety before the flames took over. “’Yung manok lang ang nakaligtas. Nakalipad siya bago kumalat ang apoy,” she said.
On the day of the fire, Juvy and her family had rushed their child to the hospital due to severe stomach pain. By the time they returned, the fire had already reduced their house to ashes.
“Napakabilis ng sunog. Hindi na namin naisalba ang kahit ano,” she said.
Now homeless, Juvy and her children are temporarily staying with neighbors. She is appealing for help. Any form of assistance, she said, would be deeply appreciated.
