A MAN was killed after being bitten and constricted by an 11.5-foot python in Brgy. Bolilao, Mandurriao district, Iloilo City, on Sunday, January 11.
Residents reportedly took turns striking the snake in an attempt to free the victim, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
The incident occurred near Bolilao Creek, where residents said snakes are occasionally seen in the area.
They noted, however, that this was the first recorded case of a person being killed by a snake in their community.
Authorities have yet to release further details on the victim and the circumstances leading to the encounter.
