Leyte vlogger buried after fatal ‘chicken bone mukbang’

THE vlogger from Kananga, Leyte who died after eating chicken bones for an online challenge was laid to rest Tuesday, as his grieving family called for justice against the person who dared him to perform the fatal stunt.

The content creator, Rogelio Adriano, reportedly accepted a challenge from a social media follower to eat fried chicken bones in exchange for P20,000.

The vlogger filmed himself consuming not just the meat but the bones, as proof that he had completed the dare. Days later, he was rushed to the hospital after suffering severe abdominal pain.

Doctors later confirmed that bone fragments had caused internal injury and blockage in his intestines. Despite undergoing treatment, he died shortly after being confined.

Making matters worse, the follower who promised the cash reward allegedly disappeared after the video was posted and never sent the money.

The family said the vlogger had hoped to use the money to support his family. They are now calling on authorities to investigate the incident and hold the challenger accountable.

As of this writing, local officials have yet to confirm whether a formal complaint has been filed.
