Jinggoy Estrada’s son hurt in Boracay beachfront attack

The son of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and his companion were injured after they were mauled by a group of young men on the beachfront at Station 2 in Boracay around 2 a.m. Saturday.

According to initial reports from local radio station Radyo Todo, the victims were walking from a bar toward D’Mall when they were followed and attacked by three suspects near a hotel in Barangay Balabag.

The suspects were identified by police as James Carl Vargas, Dwyne David Mecca, and Khenjie Sarabia, all 18, and residents of Boracay.

One of the suspects reportedly approached and punched Estrada’s son without provocation. His companion, who attempted to flee, was also pushed and punched by the other assailants.

Police responded and arrested the three suspects at the scene. 

One of the victims was brought to a hospital for medical treatment.
