Iloilo City Council demands public apology from JK Labajo over expletive-laden Dinagyang performance

THE Iloilo City Council is calling on singer JK Labajo to issue a public apology after performing his hit song “Ere” with Hiligaynon expletive during the Dinagyang Festival on January 24.

According to reports, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas was shocked by Labajo’s curse-laden performance, saying he would not tolerate such behavior, especially during a festival rooted in religious tradition.

Councilor Eduardo Estante also urged Labajo to apologize formally, suggesting that the singer release a video statement or an open letter on his social media platforms to address the incident.

During his performance, Labajo reportedly asked the audience how to translate the Filipino expletive “nakakap****ina” into Hiligaynon.

After learning the translation, he continued singing the song using the Hiligaynon version of the curse word.

Labajo was among the featured performers at the festival which honors the Santo Niño. Also spotted in the event were Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, and former Pinoy Big Brother housemates.
