Fire hits DPWH regional office in Baguio

A FIRE broke out at the regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Baguio City on Wednesday, January 14, authorities said.

The Baguio City Fire Station reported that the fire started past 5 p.m. and was declared fire out at 5:43 p.m.

In a statement, the DPWH said the blaze affected only an estimated two square meters of office space and that no employees were injured.

The agency said it is coordinating closely with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Baguio City local government to determine the cause of the fire.

“The Department is currently working in close coordination with the BFP and the Local Government of Baguio City to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into the cause of the incident,” the DPWH said.
