THE family of a barangay chairman in Digos City has increased the reward for information leading to the identification of the mastermind behind his killing, adding a parcel of land to the existing P5.5 million cash incentive.
In a radio interview, Jay Caren Bucol, wife of slain Oscar “Dodong” Bucol, confirmed that reports about the additional land reward are accurate, saying the family decided to expand the offer to encourage witnesses to come forward.
She declined to disclose the size and exact location of the land, citing security reasons, but said the added incentive is meant to persuade anyone with direct knowledge of the crime to cooperate with authorities.
Bucol said the offer also extends to individuals believed to have been inside a red Toyota Innova allegedly used during the shooting, including the gunman and possible accomplices.
Oscar Bucol, a former barangay captain of Tres de Mayo, was shot and killed on Nov. 25 last year. The case remains under investigation.
