Kasalukuyang nagbubuga ng usok at abo ang Bulkang Bulusan sa Sorsogon kasunod ng phreatic eruption na naganap alas-10:30 ng umaga ngayong Linggo, Hunyo, 4.
Tumagal nang 17 minuto ang pagsabog, ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.Bunsod nito, itinaas ng Phivolcs sa Alert Level 1 ang status ng bulkan.
“At 10:37 am today, a phreatic eruption occurred at the Bulusan Volcano summit that lasted approximately 17 minutes and was recorded by seismic and infrasound monitoring by the Bulusan Volcano Network (BVN),” sabi nig Philvolcs.
“The event was poorly visible through cloud cover over the edifice although a steam-rich grey plume at least 1 kilometer tall was observed from Juban, Sorsogon and was subsequently observed to drift west. Ashfall has been reported in Juban and Casiguran, Sorsogon,” ayon pa sa Phivolcs.
Bago ang pagsabog nakapagtala ng 77 volcanic earthquakes.
Nananatili ang Alert Level 1 sa Mt. Bulusan kung saan ipinatutupad ang 4-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) at 2-kilometer Extended Danger Zone (EDZ) sa southeast dahil sa posibleng banta ng mapanganib na phreatic eruptions.
