FIVE nuns and a monk were injured when a trailer truck rammed their vehicle in Brgy. Sampagar, Damulog, Bukidnon, on Monday, August 11.
Their driver, Alfredo Lagrimas, 65, died on the spot from severe injuries, according to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) in Damulog.
Authorities said the group had been traveling from Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, to Polomolok, South Cotabato, when the speeding truck veered into their lane on a sharp curve.
The injured are being treated at Bukidnon Provincial Hospital-Kibawe.
Police said the truck driver was taken into custody and may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and multiple physical injuries.
