Zaldy Co skips ICI hearing on flood control anomaly, may face arrest

FORMER Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co failed to attend the Independent Commission for Infrastructure’s (ICI) hearing on alleged anomalies in flood control projects held on Tuesday, October 14.

Co was among several lawmakers subpoenaed by the ICI, along with Senator Mark Villar and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

ICI Executive Director Brian Keith Hosaka earlier said the commission would file a petition to cite Co in contempt for his absence.

If granted by the court, Hosaka added, a warrant of arrest may be issued against the lawmaker, who is currently out of the country.

Co previously resigned as a member of the House of Representatives, citing threats to his life and family, but vowed to return to the Philippines to face the allegations against him.
