VP Sara leaves Remulla’s actions ‘to God’

VICE President Sara Duterte said she will “leave to God” whatever Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla plans to do in office, following his recent pronouncements on investigating officials’ Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).

The Vice President was also asked if she agreed with Remulla’s appointment to the post. “Kung ako Presidente, hindi siya ang ia-appoint ko na Ombudsman,” she said.

Remulla earlier said he supports the public release of officials’ SALNs but stressed the need to observe privacy guidelines under existing laws.

He has yet to respond to Duterte’s remarks.
