A majority of Filipinos believe the Senate is deliberately stalling the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, according to a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

Out of 1,200 adult respondents nationwide, 44 percent said they think the Senate is intentionally delaying the proceedings.

Meanwhile, 25 percent disagreed, 22 percent were undecided, and 9 percent said they had no knowledge of the issue.

Awareness of the impeachment proceedings was highest in Metro Manila, where 68 percent of respondents were informed. In contrast, the Visayas had the highest percentage of respondents with insufficient knowledge, at 13 percent. The undecided were highest in Mindanao at 25 percent.

The SWS survey was conducted from June 25 to 29, 2025, through face-to-face interviews. It has a ±3% margin of error nationwide and ±6% for each major region.

The impeachment complaint against Duterte includes issues involving confidential funds, alleged human rights violations, and controversial statements about President Marcos and his family.
