BINATIKOS ng isang mambatas sbg ginawa ng Bureau of Customs sa 20 flight attendant ng Philippine Airlines (PAL) matapos na sila’y hulihin dahil umano sa pagpuslit ng ilang kilo ng sibuyas.
Sinabi ni AnaKalusugan Party-list Rep. Ray Reyes na maliwanag na isang selective enforcement ang ginagawa ng BOC.
“Bureau of Customs’ investigation into the alleged smuggling of onions by 10 flight attendants of Philippine Airlines is a clear example of selective enforcement and a failure of the agency to hold powerful individuals and establishments accountable for their actions. It is a sad state of affairs when mid-level employees of private firms are targeted for punishment while the rich and influential are allowed to evade scrutiny and prosecution,” sabi ni Reyes.
Aniya, maliwanag na diskriminasyon ang ginagawa ng BOC.
“This type of discrimination undermines the rule of law and erodes public trust in government institutions,” dagdag ni Reyes.
Maging si Senador JV Ejercito ay hindi makapaniwala sa ginawa ng BOC.
Sa kanyang post sa Twitter, sinabi ni Ejercito na may mas malalaking smuggler na dapat tutukan ng BOC kung bakit ang mga maliliit na empleyado lang ang kaya nitong hulihin.
