Roque to NBI on sedition rap: ‘Bring it on!’

FORMER presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Monday welcomed the sedition charges filed against him by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) over the so-called “polvoron” video.

“Bring it on! Mas maganda!” Roque said in a statement. “We welcome the filing of charges by the NBI regarding the viral circulation of the polvoron video.”

Roque said the case was a chance for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to disprove, in a court of law, the persistent allegations about his alleged drug use.

“This is a good opportunity for President Marcos to once and for all personally disprove the endless allegations of his cocaine use and addiction,” Roque added.

Roque earlier denied claims made by vlogger Pebbles Cunanan, who linked him to the viral video supposedly showing the President using illegal drugs.

“The affidavit of Pebbles has no legal value,” he said. “It’s just her opinion and belief that I was the source and distributor of the polvoron video. Opinion is not the same as fact. Her affidavit does not mean anything.”

Roque is seeking asylum in the Netherlands amid an arrest warrant issued against him by the House Quad Committee in connection with its probe into Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs).
