ISINAPUBLIKO ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla na iniutos ni suspended Bureau of Corrections chief Gerald Bantag ang paghuhukay sa National Bilibid Prison para hanapin ang Yamashita treasure.
Ani Remulla, pinahinto niya si Bantag sa paghuhukay dahil isang malaking kalokohan at pagsasayang ng pera ng bayan ang ginagawa nito.
“That was supposed to be a treasure hunt for Yamashita treasure. Originally. I was told by Director General Bantag about it. And I told him to stop it. I told him to stop it,” ani Remulla sa isang panayam.
“He opened up to me about it and I told him ‘wag mo na gawin ‘yan,” dagdag niya.
“Ridiculous nga e. Tsaka, you’re wasting government time and money. ‘Di ko alam kung government time and money ginamit niya pero ridiculous para sa akin,” pahayag pa ng opisyal.
“You’re not there to seek for treasure. You’re there to run the corrections department,” hirit pa ni Remulla.
