Remulla brothers, Gibo retained in Marcos Cabinet

JUSTICE Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla and his younger brother, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla will remain in their posts, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin announced Thursday, emphasizing the brothers’ key roles in maintaining government stability.

The Remulla siblings, along with Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., were retained following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s post-election directive to revamp his Cabinet.

Bersamin said the decision to keep them in place is part of the President’s strategy to ensure continuity and strengthen governance across the justice, local government, and defense sectors.

“The President believes their continued leadership will help keep the momentum of reforms and ensure efficient public service,” Bersamin told Palace reporters.

Bersamin declined to confirm reports of National Security Adviser Eduardo Año’s resignation, saying it is a matter solely at the President’s discretion.

Meanwhile, Teodoro expressed gratitude for Marcos’ continued trust, reaffirming his commitment to national defense and regional peace.

“We will carry on our mission to protect the nation and uphold the President’s vision for a strong and secure Philippines,” Teodoro said.

The Cabinet reshuffle aims to boost service delivery and respond better to the day-to-day needs of Filipinos.
