VARIOUS organizations and religious leaders will launch a three-day prayer vigil from June 9 to 11 to urge the Senate to proceed with the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
According to Fr. Flavie Villanueva, the gathering aims to show national unity in ensuring that the trial pushes through without delay.
The event will include an ecumenical gathering, prayer vigil, and a people’s march to the Senate.
The group Tindig Pilipinas also called on the public to join the initiative, saying the country must uphold the people’s clamor for truth, accountability, and justice.
Senate President Francis Escudero earlier announced that the impeachment proceedings will begin on June 11, after being reset from the original June 2 schedule.
