THE Philippine Constitution Association (Philconsa) cited Speaker Martin Romualdez for his unwavering dedication to upholding the sanctity of the Constitution and the rule of law.
Romualdez received a plaque of appreciation from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. during the association’s 63rd anniversary celebration at the Malacanang Palace on Sept. 26.
In his message as guest of honor during the event, Marcos highlighted the vital role of Philconsa, noting that “in the past sixty-three years, the Philconsa has remained the steadfast, vigilant, and uncompromising guardians of our democracy and of our nation.”
Among others, the plaque cited Speaker Romualdez’s “unflagging interest to preserve the sanctity of the Constitution and the Rule of Law.”
He was hailed for his “purposeful leadership and untiring support” to the association, which enabled it to perform its role as the foremost champion of the Constitution.
The plaque was signed by retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno, Philconsa Chairman; Jose Leviste, Jr., Executive Vice President; and Atty. Michelle Lazaro, Secretary General of the organization.
