PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. stayed calm and composed amid the rally led by Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga at Forbes Park, Makati City, on October 12, according to Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
Remulla said the government respects the people’s right to express their sentiments, provided it is done peacefully.
“Pero hindi kami papayag sa anarchy o violence,” he said, after inspecting the site and issuing instructions to the police.
He added that around 100 people joined the protest, which remained orderly throughout.
Remulla also shared the President’s instructions: “Sabi niya, take care of the situation, ayun lang. Hindi naman siya nagpa-panic, sabi lang niya, make sure no one gets hurt.”
“Civilian peacekeeping ang mission ng PNP. If may mga threats, we always take the threat seriously,” he added.
