PBBM ‘not rattled’ by rallies, says Palace

MALACAÑANG said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is not pressured by the recent series of nationwide rallies calling for accountability over the multibillion-peso flood control scam, stressing that the demonstrations reflect the same public demand he has been pursuing.

Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro said the President “fully understands” the sentiment on the ground and has been pushing for the prosecution of those who stole from public coffers.

She noted that in just over three months of investigation, authorities have filed multiple cases, recovered stolen vehicles, and secured the return of millions in public funds.

Castro added that several assets linked to the scam have been frozen, while the Bureau of Internal Revenue has filed its own set of complaints related to tax violations.

She urged the public not to grow impatient, saying efforts to go after “bigger fish” are ongoing, particularly those who have fled abroad.
