INANUNSYO ni Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Persida Rueda-Acosta na kukuha ito ng 400 bagong abogado para pagsilbihan ang milyun-milyong mahihirap na kliyente sa buong bansa.
Sinabi ni Rueda-Acosta na tatanggapin ng kanyang ahensya ang mga pumasa sa 2020/2021 bar exams, kabilang ang mga miyembro ng LGBTQ+ community at persons with dissability.
“The PAO would be very happy working with them. We can even hire deaf and mute lawyers,” ayon kay Rueda-Acosta.
“We even welcome those living without complete internal organs as long as she/he is qualified based on our requirements,” dagdag pa niya.
Sa ngayon, sinabi niya na ang PAO ay mayroong 2,500 abogado sa buong bansa at naghihintay ng mahigit 140 plantilla o permanenteng posisyon na aaprubahan ng Department of Budget and Management na may pahintulot ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Sinabi ni Rueda-Acosta na inuuna rin nila ang mga court employees na gustong mag-apply sa ahensya.
Binanggit niya bilang isang halimbawa si Revelyn Ramos-Dacpano, ang kasalukuyang direktor ng PAO-National Capital Region.
“Atty. Ramos-Dacpano used to be a court worker and her experience in the courts makes her highly qualified for the PAO position as she is a very competent lawyer,” ayon sa opisyal.
