KINONTRA ng tanggapan ng Bise Presidente ang naging pahayag ni Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian na lahat umano ng request ng Office of the Vice President para sa assistance na ipamamahagi.
Ito ang sinabi ngayong Martes ni OVP director for operations, Norman Baloro, kaugnay sa mga pahayag ni Gatchalian sa Senate panel nitong Lunes na lahat umano ng hiling na assistance ng OVP ay ibinigay ng kanyang tanggapan.
Ayon kay Baloro makailang beses tinanggihan ng DSWD ang OVP referrals.
“While such statements may paint a picture of seamless coordination between our two offices, the reality on the ground tells a different story. There had been several instances when OVP referrals were declined,” ani Baloro.
Isa umanong pagkakataon ay nang hilingin ng OVP na tulungan ang isang grupo ng mga indibidwal na naapektuhan ng African Swine Fever (ASF) ngunit tinanggihan ito ng tanggapan ni Gatchalian.
“The request was denied because the DSWD claimed that they cannot do ‘mass payout,’ and yet they are able to do it in other areas, together with other politicians,” pahayag ni Baloro.
“Moreover, there are clear evidence from various OVP Satellite Offices that some clients referred by the OVP have been left unattended by various Regional Offices of the DSWD,” dagdag pa nito.
Katunayan anya, hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin nabibigyang pansin ang mga ini-refer na 7,056 application para sa Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program at 2,597 application para sa Sustainable Livelihod Program (SLP) mula sa Negros Island at Panay.
Meron din anya sa Cebu at Bohol na ini-refer ng OVP sa DSWD ngunit hindi rin pa nabibigyang pansin.
Una nang itinanggi ni Gatchalian ang pahayag ni Vice President sara Duterte na napopolitika anya ang pagbibigay ng mga ayuda ng DSWD.
