HINDI sumipot si former Presidential Economic Adviser Michael Yang sa pagdinig sa Senado ngayong araw dahil sa umano’y “medical reasons.”
Ayon sa kanyang lawyer na si Raymond Fortun, pinayuhan si Yang ng kanyang doktor na huwag munang um-attend sa pagdinig ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
“His blood pressure had suddenly shot up. He was advised by his doctor to just stay at home. Because of the proceedings, his health has been affected,” ayon kay Fortun.
Noong nakaraang linggo ay itinanggi ni Yang na may kinalaman siya sa deal ng Pharmally sa Department of Budget and Management’s Procurement Service.
Samantala, sinabi ni Blue Ribbon Committee chairman Senador Richard Gordon na madalas na mangyari ang ganitong sitwasyon sa tuwing may iniimbestigahan.
“That always occurs when somebody is under investigation. They show their picture in a hospital bed and they cannot appear,” ani Gordon.
“We’re not gonna give him a free pass. He is not under pressure there… He can bring his doctor if he wills,” dagdag niya. –A. Mae Rodriguez
