Marcos’ trust rating drops as Sara’s surges – Octa survey

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s trust rating declined by five percentage points in April, while Vice President Sara Duterte’s rose by nine points, according to the latest nationwide Tugon ng Masa survey by Octa Research.

The non-commissioned survey, conducted from April 2 to 5 among 1,200 adult respondents, showed that Marcos’ trust rating slipped from 65 percent in November 2024 to 60 percent.

Meanwhile, Duterte’s trust rating jumped from 49 percent to 58 percent during the same period.

“This marks the lowest trust rating for President Marcos Jr. since the first quarter of 2024, [but] it is important to note that, despite the decline, most adult Filipinos still express trust in President Marcos Jr.,” Octa Research noted.

Marcos’ performance satisfaction rating also dropped from 64 percent to 59 percent. Dissatisfaction and undecided responses were both at 20 percent.

Duterte, on the other hand, rose from 48 percent to 56 percent, with 20 percent dissatisfied and 23 percent undecided.

Octa said the survey has a ±3 percent margin of error nationwide and ±6 percent for major regions including Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
