Marcos trust rating climbs; VP Sara, Chiz dip — OCTA

PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. saw a slight increase in public trust, while Vice President Sara Duterte and Senate President Chiz Escudero posted lower ratings, based on the latest OCTA Research survey released this week.

Marcos’ trust rating rose to 64 percent in July, up from 60 percent in April 2025. In contrast, Duterte’s rating fell to 54 percent, down four points from 58 percent during the same period.

The Vice President registered a 23 percent distrust rating, slightly higher than Marcos’ 20 percent. Meanwhile, more respondents said they were undecided on Duterte, at 23 percent, compared to 16 percent for the President.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez also saw an improvement, climbing to 57 percent from 54 percent in April. His highest trust rating came from the Visayas region, at 66 percent.

Escudero, on the other hand, dropped to 51 percent, down from 55 percent. The biggest decline was seen in Balance Luzon, where his rating fell by nine percentage points.

The survey was conducted from July 12 to 17 across various regions nationwide.
