SINABI ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na isang procedural mistake ang kontrobersiyal na pagpapatigil sa importasyon ng 300,000 metric tons ng asukal.
“It was basically a mistake, a procedural mistake that happened,” sabi ni Marcos.
Ito’y matapos ibasura ang mga kaso laban kina dating Agriculture Senior Undersecretary Leocadio Sebastian, dating Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) Administrator Hermenegildo Serafica at dating SRA Board Members Roland Beltran at Aurelio Gerardo Valderrama Jr.
Idinagdag ni Marcos na pakikinggan muna niya ang magiging paliwanag ni Sebastian bago magdesisyon kung ibabalik pa ito sa DA. Si Sebastian ay isang career official.
“Whatever plans we have for Usec. Sebastian, I think we should hear them first, not over the news. So pag-uusapan namin. Because we are mindful of the decision,” aniya.
