Marcos sends well wishes to Trump after assassination attempt

PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sent his well wishes to former United States president Donald Trump, who was hurt during an apparent assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally Saturday (Sunday, PH time).

“It is with great relief that we receive the news that former President Donald Trump is fine and well after the attempt to assassinate him,” Marcos said on his official X account Sunday.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family,” he added.

The President said the Philippines condemns all forms of political violence.

“Together with all democracy-loving peoples around the world, we condemn all forms of political violence. The voice of the people must always remain supreme,” he said.

Trump’s right ear was grazed while the gunman was killed, reportedly by a sniper, foreign reports said.

One spectator was likewise killed and two others were injured.

Trump, who is eyeing a return to the White House, was taken off stage by Secret Service agents.

His camp told the media the former president “will be fine.” (PNA)
