FORMER presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque weighed in on the suspension of Cavite 4th District Rep. Kiko Barzaga, saying the young lawmaker deserves to be House Speaker.
In a video posted on his Facebook page Thursday, Roque called Barzaga, whom he nicknamed “Cong Meow Meow,” a brave and principled congressman.
“Dapat talagang palakpakan ang mga matatapang, ang mga naninindigan, mga batang mambabatas, gaya ni Cong Meow Meow,” he said.
Roque added that Barzaga should not have been suspended and that under a potential administration led by Vice President Sara Duterte, he deserves the top post in the House.
“Kaya nga po kung matatanggal ang Marcos bangag na ‘yan… dapat nga siguro eh maging House Speaker si Cong Meow Meow at bawian ang lahat ng binoto para sa pagkasuspinde n’ya,” he said.
Barzaga was suspended by the House on December 1 after receiving a 60-day suspension. A total of 249 lawmakers voted in favor, 11 abstained, and five opposed the suspension.
