HALF of Filipinos believe former President Rodrigo Duterte should be held accountable for the extrajudicial killings linked to his administration’s war on drugs, a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.
According to the poll, 50 percent of respondents agreed that Duterte must face responsibility for the killings, while 32 percent disagreed, 15 percent were undecided, and 4 percent said they lacked sufficient knowledge to respond.
Calls for accountability were strongest among Filipinos aged 55 and above at 62 percent, followed by those aged 45 to 54 (52 percent), millennials aged 35 to 44 (45 percent), and Gen Z respondents aged 18 to 24 (43 percent).
The nationwide survey was conducted from Sept. 24 to 30 among 1,500 adults, with a ±3 percent margin of error.
