Guanzon: Sacking Romualdez key to PH peace

FORMER Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Rowena Guanzon said the key to peace in the Philippines is to remove House Speaker Martin Romualdez from his post.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Aug. 10, Guanzon claimed Romualdez was responsible for the breakup of the “Uniteam” tandem of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte, which won the 2022 elections.

Her post quickly drew mixed reactions online. Supporters agreed with her assessment, calling Romualdez “the root of the PBBM administration’s problems” and blaming him for issues on the national budget and the collapse of the Uniteam alliance. “Brilliant idea, Atty. RG,” one commenter said. Another wrote, “Agree!

Others, however, slammed Guanzon for her statement, with some accusing her of fanning political tension. One even told her, “Pwede, basta ikaw yung unang aalis sa earth, Guanzon.”

Romualdez has yet to respond to Guanzon’s remark.
