“The ICC pre-trial Chamber 1 authorizes the commencement of the investigation into the Situation in the Philippines, in relation to crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court allegedly committed on the territory of the Philippines between 1 November 2011 and 16 March 2019 in the context of the so-called ‘war on drugs’ campaign,” ayon sa ICC.

Ang order ay pirmado ng ICC judge na sina Péter Kovács, Reine Adélaïde Sophie Alapini-Gansou at María del Socorro Flores Liera.

Ikinunsidera ng korte ang mage bidensiya na iniharap ng 204 biktima, at nakita rito ang “widespread and systematic attack against the civilian population took place pursuant to or in furtherance of a state policy”.
