NAGPALIWANAG si incoming National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) chief Arsenio Balisacan hinggil sa desisyon na tanggapin ang alok ni President-elect Bongbong Marcos na sumama sa kanyang economic team sa kabila ng pagiging dating opisyal sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Noynoy Aquino na kilalang kalaban ng pamilya Marcos.
“At the end of the day, I would not want to have this feeling of guilt of not responding to the call when there was a request and indeed, I have… I think I’ve learned so much over the years in government particularly in running the economy. I think it’s probably not right for me to at least try,” sabi ni Balisacan.
Nanungkulan si Balisacan bilang NEDA secretary general sa panahon ni Aquino.
Idinagdag ni Balisacan na personal na inalok ni Marcos na bumalik siya sa NEDA.
“We knew each other quite well. I knew him as a governor. I got to interacted with him when he was a senator. I got to had an occasion of briefing him on developmental issues concerning agriculture and moral development at that time. He asked me to return back to my old post. I asked for few days to think about it,” dagdag pa ni Balisacan.
