PORMAL nang pinirmahan ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang Executive Order Number 10 na nagpapalawig sa mababang taripa sa mga imported na baboy, mais at bigas hanggang Disyembre 31, 2023.
“The current global economic situation brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as other factors affecting the country’s traditional sources of rice, corn, coal, and fresh, chilled or frozen meat of swine, cause uncertainty in the steady supply of said commodities,” sabi ni Marcos sa EO.
Ipatutupad naman ang zero na taripa sa coal.
“The high inflation caused by supply constraints, expected shortage in the global supply and rise in international commodity prices present economic and trade implications to the country and the Filipino people,” dagdag ni Marcos.
Nangangahulugan ito ng 15 porsiyentong (in-quota) at 25 porsiyento (out-quota) para sa imported na baboy; mais, limang porsiyento (in-quota) at 15 porsiyento (out-quota); bigas, 35 porsiyento (in-quota at out-quota).
Nakatakda sanang magtapos ang EO No. 171 na ipinalabas ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kaugnay ng mas mababang taripa sa imported na baboy, mais, bigas at coal noong Disyembre 21, 2022.EO
