IDINEKLARA na ni Pangulong Duterte ang kanyang pagtakbo bilang bise presidente sa May 22 elections.
“Gusto talaga ninyo? O, sige tatakbo ako ng bise presidente. Then, I will continue the crusade,” sabi ni Duterte sa kanyang Talk to the People address nitong Martes ng gabi.
Nauna nang naglabas ng pahayag ang PDP Laban kung saan sinabi nito na payag nang maging bise presidente si Duterte.
“For whatever it may be worth in the coming days, nasa Pilipino na ‘yan. Nandiyan lang ako. Magsabi lang ako,” ani Duterte.
Ayon sa PDP-Laban, tinanggap ng Pangulo ang nominasyon matapos ipakita sa kanya ang “popular call” ng PDP-Laban councils para sa isang “transition of government that will guarantee the continuity of the administration’s programs.”
Naniniwala ang partido na ang pagtakbo ni Duterte bilang vice president ay para masiguro na magtutuluy-tuloy ang programa ng kanyang pamahalaan sa pagtugon sa problema sa pandemya.
“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte agreed to make the sacrifice and heed the clamor of the people and accepted the endorsement of the PDP-Laban party for him to run as vice president in the 2022 national elections,” ayon sa PDP-Laban. –WC
