SINIBAK bilang party chairman ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP–Laban) si Pangulong Duterte.
Ipinalit kay Duterte si Senador Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, ayon sa isang opisyal ng partido.
Sibak din si Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi bilang vice chairman ng partido at pinalitan ni Eastern Samar Governor Lutgardo Barbo.
Ito ang ibinunyag ni PDP-Laban Executive Director Ron Munsayac matapos anyang mag-convene ang orihinal na PDP-Laban national council Linggo ng hapon.
“It was attended by our national and regional officers and national committee chairmen led by Party President and our ‘Pambansang Kamao’ Sen. Manny Pacquiao, who is currently airborne on his way home here,” ayon kay Munsayac.
“The PDP LABAN National Council elected Sen. Koko Pimentel as its Chairman and former Gov. Lutgardo Barbo as Vice Chairman,” dagdag pa nito.
Ang yumaong ama ni Pimentel na si Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr. ang siyang nagtatag ng partido noong Pebrero 6, 1982.
