SINABI ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na tuloy ang paghahain ng diplomatic protest laban sa China sa harap ng panibagong insidente ng pagtataboy sa mga Pinoy na mangingisda sa Ayungin Shoal.
“But that does not preclude us from continuing to make protest and continuing to send note verbales concerning this. But you know this is a long process because it is something new. I just hope we can come to some kind of arrangement because I cannot see the utility for the Chinese of doing that. These fishing boats are not armed. They don’t pose a threat to anyone. So I think that is something that we can achieve in the near – in the near term,” sabi ni Marcos.
Nauna nang nangako si Chinese President Xi Jinping kay Marcos na hahayaang makapangisda ang mga Pinoy sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).
Hindi naman natupad ang ipinangako ni Xi sa isinagawang state visit ni Marcos sa China.
“Well, we haven’t come to that compromise yet. And the timing of what we call – we refer to as a shadowing, it’s what they do is they shadow our fishing boats. So that incident happened right after I had returned from China,” aniya.
